At the opening flag we welcomed new members Tony & Ruth. All turned up last Friday and soon settled in, with the weather being more than kind to us in the early stages. Throughout the whole we week we had no rain, though it did get very cold at night, down to 3C most nights and there was always a cool breeze until the last day. It never stopped any of the events that took place. About the site Access from the main routes is good until the last 300 yards. The lane is narrow at the end prior to the boatyard entrance, though plenty wide enough for any vehicle. The ground is grass and well drained. There are no toilets or showers however, the Elsan is open between 9am and 6pm. There are several water points along the water frontage. Waste water is disposed of via the hedgerow. The setting is tranquil and quiet and the owner, Craig, who lives on the boat Harry is very friendly and helpful. There are no rubbish bins so your waste has to be either taken to the Recycling Centre two miles away, or taken home. A lovely site for visiting the Evesham Vale or a relaxing holiday next to the River Avon. Fun events Nursery Rhyme Quiz Members were given a nursery rhyme to draw a picture of and place in their front windows. There were 14 in all and there were two with 100%. The chosen winner was Chris & John, who won a picture frame clock. Bingo 15 Daily Bingo numbers displayed on Notice Board. No-one had one it after 75 numbers so the final numbers were drawn at FLAG, the winner was Alison, who won a bottle of Italian Wine. Horse Racing One live race was run each evening for 5 evenings at 6pm. each member was given £25 of JaG money to spend on any horse in any race. At the final race we had an Ascot Day where everyone shared strawberries, cream and bubbly to celebrate the winners, new members Tony & Ruth. They were presented with a Hip Flask and a Certificate at the final FLAG. Second was Alison who received a prize of Worry Balls and third was Dot & Ernie, who received a pair of fighting grandads. Afternoon Bingo We had an adhoc game of two Bingo games during an afternoon with spot prizes. Mr & Mrs Quiz On Tuesday afternoon we held a Mrs & Mrs Quiz with three couples taking part...Dot and Ernie, John and Rose and John and Christine. The prize of a jewel encrusted clock and certificate was won by John & Rose. Chinese Raffle We had a Chinese Raffle on Wednesday afternoon. It was really funny with several prizes changing hands continually, such as a mini chopper and moisterising socks. Thank you to John for running it for us. Final FLAG And so our Rally came to an end today; and what fun and enjoyment we had running our first with PLUS. Jean and myself would like to thank Chris and John for booking the fabulous venue by the river and assisting with the marshaling John for running the Chinese raffle Derek for his help in taking everyone's rubbish to the recycling centre with me Annette, Sid and Christine for their contribution of photos for the forum And, above all, the members who attended to make it a fun rally, which we hope everyone enjoyed. Tony and Ruth said they really enjoyed their first rally and would be attending more in the future. The photos of the event have been posted under Member's Gallery - Wyre Piddle

Jean & Graham assisted by John and Chris ran a fantastic rally. First we were given £25 per couple for a bet on the horses which was great fun, all cheering most nights for their horse to win. The last night we were treated with strawberries and cream & Bucks Fizz.
Next was Mr & Mrs. This was won by Rose and John, beating Chris and John and Dot and Ernie. They were even presented with a carriage clock and certificate.
We also had a Chinese Raffle. John Henley played the part in this as none of us was quite sure how it was played. Well done John. In demand was a small chopper and would you believe it...socks, but not ordinary sock but ones that soften your feet. Another great day.
FLAG We were given nursery rhymes to display in our windows. This was won by Chris Peach, who won a dog wall clock. Next Alice won the Bingo. The results of the racing was announced. 1st were new ralliers Ruth and Tony, winning a Spirit flask & Certificate. Second was Alice and third was Ernie and Dot.
After Graham thanked all that had helped them.
Tony, new member, got up and said that everyone from day one had made them feel welcome.
Terry Hughes, Chairperson thanked the Rally Officers on behalf of us all.
Can't wait until next year.
